Heather McGarey

Heather McGarey is an award winning classically trained artist who has been studying and teaching at the Boulder School of Fine Art for over eight years. She paints landscapes, portraits, still lifes and figure with oils and colored pencil.

Heather McGarey Bio

Heather McGarey is a realist artist deeply rooted in the classical tradition.  After earning a BFA in set and lighting design from the University of Colorado, she ventured into the diverse artistic landscape of New York City, studying at the Art Students League and the School of Visual Arts. Her multifaceted career included roles as an interior designer, set designer, stage lighting technician, all the while exploring fine art.

As a Signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, Heather served as president of the Denver Chapter for three years. Heather's art has been showcased in numerous juried shows and International exhibitions.

  

Heather McGarey's artistic evolution, from the bustling city life in New York to the serene landscapes of Colorado, mirrors her diverse influences. Her dedication to classical art at the Boulder School of Fine Art underscores her continuous pursuit of artistic growth and mastery. Through her art, she invites us to share in the joy of perceiving the overlooked details in life and finding beauty in the ordinary.
