Monica Maldonado

Monica Maldonado is an artist and teacher who joined the Boulder School of Fine Art in spring 2025. She teaches painting, drawing, art history, music and sewing online and in person. She enjoys teaching adults and teens.

Monica Maldonado Bio

Monica is an artist based in Colorado. Her work explores the connection within storytelling, identity, and technique through painting and drawing. She blends modern art and abstraction techniques with modern-day themes to capture emotion and narrative, using bold color, expressive mark-making, and layered textures. Inspired by everyday moments, personal history, and the fluid nature of identity. Her art reflects a deep connection to memory, transformation, and self-discovery, inviting viewers into a world of layered meaning and emotion.

She has taught music and art in Waldorf High Schools, and taught at the Boulder School of Fine Art beginning in spring 2025
