Draperies and Draped Figure
The Draped Figure class offers students the opportunity to study and master the challenges of drawing and painting abstracted forms from life in natural light.
Sketches are first made to explore the gesture, shape and values of the subject, then a final finished drawing of charcoal on Roma paper is completed before painting begins. If time permits, a historically based limited palette of oil paints is used on linen canvas to create a la prima paintings that reflect the overall light and shadows of the model's form.
