Turn your children's book idea into reality.

Come learn what it takes to bring words to life in this children's book illustration course. Students will practice fundamentals of illustration (such as color, composition, etc.), as well as other tips and tricks for creating engaging works of narrative art. This course is suited for artists of all skill levels.

This is a non-digital course. Art supplies needed for the course are provided as part of the class fee.

Ipad Digital Drawing and Painting

Bring your Ipad to class and let Leah show you how to use basic drawing apps as well as her favorite one to create digital drawings for a variety of projects.

Art Journal Travelogue

May Tuesdays 2-4 and June Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30

Get ready to make mementos of your travels in this mixed media class​. Students will use watercolor, pencil, gouache and ink to sketch scenes and memories of travels.

Combine ink and watercolor and make images with rich colors and contrast. Ninel will share tips and tricks to make  a multimedia piece of art, and some methods about drawing with perspective.

Intro to Drawing the Loomis Way

Ben Harden, Instructor

April, May and June Sundays from 3:30-5

Andrew Loomis was an acclaimed illustrator and educator who is famous for his useful and inspiring teachings for drawing. Ben will guide his students through a series of drawing exercises based on Loomis' methods.

Inking Graphic Characters

May - June Saturdays from 1:30-3:30

Fuki Funakoshi is back from her travels and will be teaching her popular inking graphic characters in April, May and June.

This class is appropriate for beginners and advanced students 10 years and up. Continuing students will work on new projects.

Let's Draw!

Intro to Basic Drawing with Jeanne

May - June Thursdays from 2-4

Have you always wanted to draw but weren't sure how to get started? Or maybe you're a beginner and want some guidance? In this class, we will learn and practice basic drawing techniques with graphite, color & charcoal pencils. We'll start each class with a sketch warm-up then dive into drawing a variety of subjects designed to inspire and expand your journey as an emerging artist.

All materials needed for the class are provided as part of the class fee.

Jeanne Kipke is a retired teacher and artist (and President of the Boulder Art Association) who loves to draw! Jeanne works with a variety of mediums - including oils, acrylics, watercolor, color pencils, charcoal, cold wax and digital art.
